Composers Conference and Chamber Music Center

I first played and taught at the Composers Conference and Chamber Music Center led by the composer Mario Davidovsky and conductor James Baker in 1989. For two weeks every summer, my colleagues and I are in residence at the beautiful campus of Wellesley College in Massachusetts and devote ourselves to working with young emerging composers who receive fellowships to attend the Conference and have their work performed and recorded. There are two guest senior composers in residence, with Steven Mackey and Augusta Read Thomas being our guests this year. We also coach chamber music groups formed by a loyal, inquisitive, and enthusiastic band of amateur players. For more information go to www.composersconference.org.
